Born in Civitavecchia, tenor Roberto Aronica studied singing with Carlo Bergonzi. After his debut in Rigoletto at Teatro Municipale in Santiago de Chile, he became guest of the most important theatres of the world, such as Teatro alla Scala, the Metropolitan Opera of New York, the Opéra de Bastille in Paris, the Royal Opera House in London, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Teatro Liceu in Barcelona, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, the Wiener Staatsoper, the San Francisco Opera, the Los Angeles Opera, the Japan Opera Foundation in Tokyo and many more.
His repertory: Forza del Destino, Trovatore, Aida, Don Carlos, Masnadieri, Ernani, Stiffelio, Otello by Verdi; Carmen by Bizet; Tosca, Manon Lescaut, Tabarro, Fanciulla del West by Puccini; Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, Sansone e Dalila, Adriana Lecouvreur. He worked with Semyon Bychkov, James Conlon, Daniele Gatti, James Levine, Christian Thielemann, Roberto Abbado, Renato Palumbo, Riccardo Chailly, Daniel Oren.
Amongst the most recent engagements: Un Ballo in Maschera at Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Manon Lescaut at Teatro alla Scala, Tosca at Teatro Liceu in Barcellona, Cavalleria Rusticana at Teatro Comunale di Bologna (2019), Carmen at the Sydney Opera House (2020).
