Svetla Vassileva appears on many of the world's leading operatic stages, including ROH Covent Garden, Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra National de Paris, Teatro alla Scala, San Francisco Opera, New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, Washington Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Roma, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro Regio di Torino, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Hamburger Staatsoper.



She performed in a wide range of roles encompassing the repertoire of Puccini, Mozart, Donizetti, Leoncavallo, Hindemith, Verdi and Weill working with such conductors as Bruno Bartoletti, Riccardo Chailly, Daniele Gatti, Vladimir Jurowski, Nicola Luisotti, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Kent Nagano, Gianandrea Noseda, Daniel Oren, George Pretre, Yutake Sado, Jeffrey Tate, Yuri Temirkanov.



Recent engagements have included Turandot at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Falstaff at the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Rusalka, Pikovaja dama and Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Otello, Giovanna d’Arco and La traviata at the Teatro Regio di Parma, Rachmaninov’s Francesca da Rimini with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, La rondine at the Festival Puccini of Torre del Lago, Suor Angelica and La bohème at the Teatro alla Scala, Evgenij Onegin at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, Turandot at Covent Garden, Tosca at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Madama Butterfly at the Wiener Staatsoper and at the San Francisco Opera, Zandonai's Francesca da Rimini at Opèra National de Paris.



Concert performances have included Mahler’s Symphony no. 4 in Bologna with Daniele Gatti, Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Roma with Yuri Temirkanov, Rossini's Stabat Mater conducted by Riccardo Chailly, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem conducted by Lorin Maazel in Parma.



During the 2011/12 season she performed as Alice in Falstaff at the Teatro Regio di Parma, Tosca at the Teatro Regio di Torino and at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées de Paris, Madama Butterfly at the Staatsoper in Munich and at the Teatro de La Maestranza in Sevilla.



Among her future plans are Madama Butterfly at Den Norske Opera di Oslo and at Opéra National de Paris, Evgenij Onegin at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Falstaff at the Opéra National de Paris, La forza del destino at the Opera Australia in Sydney, Ernani at the Opéra de Montecarlo.



Her discography includes Pagliacci (with Roberto Alagna; dvd), Pagliacci (with Plácido Domingo), Le nozze istriane by Smareglia (live from Trieste), Aleko and Francesca da Rimini by Rahmaninov with BBC, Francesca da Rimini by Zandonai (live from Paris – to be released).
