Tara Houghton
Tutti Viola
Tara Houghton currently holds the position of Tutti Viola in the Opera Australia Orchestra. She has performed with the Sydney Symphony, Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria and has also performed as Guest Principal of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and the Musician Project. Tara was violist in the Sydney Symphony Fellowship in 2011 and performed as Principal Viola of the Australian Youth Orchestra.
Tara graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium with first class honours, studying with Michele Walsh. Tara subsequently studied with Roger Benedict, Fiona Sargeant and Monica Curro at the Australian National Academy of Music, where she was the recipient of the Georgina Grosvenor Memorial Scholarship. Tara also holds a Master of Music Studies from the Sydney Conservatorium, completed under the tutelage of Roger Benedict.
