Waldemar Quinones-Villanueva

Waldemar Quiñones-Villanueva was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where he performed professionally with different companies such as Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico, Ballet Juvenil Puertorriqueño, Ballet de San Juan, Ballet de Teatro Nacional de Puerto Rico and Ópera de Puerto Rico.

His repertoire includes Serenade, Giselle, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Coppélia, Beauty and The Beast, Carnaval, Le Corsaire, Flames of Paris, Orpheus, Carmina Burana, Le Nozze di Figaro, La Traviata, Carmen, The Merry Widow among others.

He has performed with popular artists such as Marc Anthony, Olga Tañon, La India, Celia Cruz, Millie Corretjer, Wilkins, Gilberto Santarosa, Lucecita Benitez and Isabel Pantoja. He was selected as a special guest to dance for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican when he was only 15 years old.

Mr. Quiñones-Villanueva currently lives in New York City where he has had the opportunity to dance professionally with Ballet Hispanico of New York, Staten Island Ballet, Hawaii Ballet Theatre, Metropolitan Opera Of New York, Houston Grand Opera, at the Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, Kennedy Center and National Theatre in Washington DC.

Theatre Credits include West Side Story on Broadway and first national tour, West Side Story Centennial World tour, ZORBA at Encores City Center, Man Of La Mancha at Barrington Stage, Billy Elliot at Maltz Jupiter Theater, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert at Fiddlehead Theater, Jerome Robbins Broadway at The Muny and Evita at Repertory Theatre St. Louis

His television appearances include Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Billboard Music Awards, Grammy Awards, Miss Universe, Heritage Awards and The Super Bowl. His choreography has been featured on Objetivo Fama, Jodi McQueen Project and Nuestra Gente Puerto Rico.

Mr. Quiñones-Villanueva Graduated Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico with a BS in Education.
