Golden Anniversary Syndicate

In September 1973, Opera Australia, then known as the Australian Opera, christened the newly-opened Sydney Opera House’s Opera Theatre, now the Joan Sutherland Theatre, with Prokofiev’s War and Peace. This pioneering production has been followed by many more inspiring works of opera, which we are thrilled to celebrate as we mark the Sydney Opera House’s 50th birthday.

As we celebrate fifty years of performing under the iconic sails, we invite you to join our Golden Anniversary Syndicate. Syndicate members will be invited to bespoke events and experiences throughout the year, enabling you to connect with fellow opera-lovers and enjoy special opportunities with the Opera Australia family. Join us for decadent dinners and receptions, a cast 'meet and greet' and a recital featuring members of the Opera Australia Orchestra.

Funds raised from the Syndicate will support our education and artist development programs, including our Young Artist ProgramSchools and National Tours and Regional Children’s Chorus, which allow us to support the next generation of performers, directors, conductors, and audience members

To join the Golden Anniversary Syndicate, donations from $1,000 are warmly welcomed. The majority of your gift is tax deductible however a small portion will be allocated to cover the hospitality included in Syndicate events.
