Peter England
Set and Costume Designer

Peter England holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Design) from NIDA (1994) and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Hons.) from UNSW (1986). He is a multi-award-winning designer, receiving four Helpmann Awards, three Green Room Awards, and a Mike Walsh Fellowship. His work on King Kong – Alive on Boardway earned him an Outer Critics Circle Award, a Drama Desk Award and a Tony Award nomination in 2019.
For Opera Australia, Peter has designed; Sweeney Todd (2001); Simon Boccanegra (2001) La bohème (1999) and Madama Butterfly (1997). He has also designed multiple productions for numerous other companies, most notably; Bangarra Dance Theatre, The Sydney Theatre Company, The Shakespeare Theatre Company (Washington DC), The Australian Ballet, Victorian State Opera, Sydney Dance Company, The Gordon Frost Organisation and Global Creatures (King Kong, Walking with Dinosaurs and How to Train your Dragon). His large-scale event work includes designs for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Closing Ceremony and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
