Lip sync for La Traviata

Get in touch with your inner diva and win the ultimate Sydney night out.

Ever since Guy Pearce screamed across the desert lip syncing to La Traviata on a bus called Priscilla, ‘Sempre Libera’ has been a lip sync classic. The high-flying Verdi aria, with its infectious melody and champagne flute-shattering high notes, is perfect for a bit of frivolity. In the aria, our heroine Violetta famously sings that she’s always free, and always seeking out life’s greatest pleasures.

Now we’re asking you to step into Violetta’s shoes and lip sync for your chance to win the ultimate night out at La Traviata on Sydney Harbour.

You’re invited to upload a video of yourself lip-syncing to the track, using our handy karaoke video as a guide. You can use your favourite social media platform (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok) just make sure you tag us @operaaustralia and use the hashtags #operalipsync and #operaharbour.

Feel free to get as creative as you like: unusual locations, props, costumes, pets. It’s up to you! While not all of us have been blessed with a spectacular singing voice, anybody and everybody can lip sync the house down!

The Prize
