Ellen Choung

Violin

Ellen grew up in Sydney and started learning the violin at age four. She quickly grew an interest for the instrument and decided to further her studies through the Open Academy Rising Stars Program at the Sydney Conservatorium.

She is now studying her Bachelor of Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium with Associate Professor Ole Bohn. She recently had the chance to go on tour with the Conservatorium’s orchestra where they performed across Europe.

Earlier this year, she played in the Hayes Theatre’s production of the musical Bonnie & Clyde which gave her the opportunity to work closely with singers. Ellen is a passionate performer who loves the energy of playing in an orchestra. She recently played her first Opera—Verdi’s La Traviata with the Opera Australia Orchestra and is looking forward to the year ahead.
