Ryan Sharp

Background: Bachelor of Music  (WAAPA). Young Artist for West Australian Opera, 2011. Awarded the Wesfarmers Arts Scholarship, 2011; the Helen Court scholarship for ‘The Top Graduating Classical Music Student’, 2010. Finalist in the Australian Singing Competition (Mathy Awards) at the Sydney Opera House, 2010, where he was awarded the Anselmo Colzani Scholarship, the David Harper Award and the Opera Australia Award. He is currently a member of the Opera Australia Chorus.

Other Companies: Pistola: Falstaff, Servant: Elektra (WAO); Marquis de la Force: Dialogues des Carmélites, Reverend Hale: The Crucible, The Usher: Trial by Jury, Peter Quince: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, soloist in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Tippet’s A Child of our Time (WAAPA). Concerts include soloist for Handel’s Messiah (UWA Choral Society), Beethoven’s Mass in C Major (Collegium Symphonic Chorus), Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (St Georges Cathedral) and Argenio in Festival Baroque Australia’s concert production of Handel’s opera Imeneo.
