For Opera Australia, Roles include Morales in Carmen, Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, the Imperial Commissioner and Yamadori in Madama Butterfly, the Lieutenant in Kate Miller-Heidke’s The Rabbits.

For Victorian Opera, Simon has performed Priam in Simon Bruckhard’s Cassandra, First Nazarene in  Salome and Jimmy in Stuart Greenbaum’s The Parrot Factory. He was the baritone soloist in the world premiere of Richard Mills song cycle “In Tempore Bello” and Faure’s Requiem.

For Melbourne Opera, Simon performed the title role in Verdi’s Macbeth, Alberich in Wagner’s Das Rheingold, Faninal in R Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier. He has also performed Escamillo in Carmen, Guglielmo in Così fan Tutte and Marullo in Rigoletto.

Other roles include Alfio/Tonio in Cavalleria Rusticana/I Pagliacci (West Australian Opera), Villequier in Chabrier’s Le Malgre Roi Lui (Wexford Festival Opera, Ireland), The title role in Le Nozze di Figaro (AIOC). He has performed both Junius and Tarquinius in Britten’s Rape of Lucretia, Demetrius in A Midsummer Nights Dream (Co-Opera, SA). Marcello in La Boheme (Opera Siam in Bangkok), Creon in Darius Milhaud’s Medea (Lost and Found, WA). He performed the lead role of Rupert Brooke in Nicholas Vines’ Green Room award winning opera The Hive (Chamber Made Opera).
