Background: Born, Sweden. Died in 1989. Trained as an actor at the National Theatre (Royal Dramatic Theatre), Stockholm for eight years until deciding to become a freelance director. Principal Producer at the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirschen, Germany, 1977-79. From 1977-1989 much of his work was in collaboration with designer Carl Friedrich Oberle, the two having gained an international reputation with works by Mozart, Strauss, Wagner, Monteverdi, Humperdinck, Offenbach, Poulenc, Rossini, Salieri, Stradella, Weill and Verdi. Directed plays by Ibsen, Aristophanes, Athayde, Shakespeare
