René Richard Cyr


Background: Actor, stage director, author, film director and television host René Richard Cyr was the Artistic Director of Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui from 1998 to 2004.  From 1981 to 1998, he was associate artistic director of Théâtre PàP. In the course of the last twenty-five years, he has directed more than a hundred contemporary and classical plays and various shows, among which recitals, galas and TV shows. He wrote and staged Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity. He also stages operas such as The Turn of the Screw by Britten, Mozart's Don Giovanni and Verdi's Macbeth. In 2010, he signed the adaptation and directed the musical entitled Belles-Soeurs for which he received his fourth Felix Award (ADISQ) for Best Director. He's received several accolades, as well as some fifteen prestigious awards
