Melbourne soprano Hannah Dahlenburg completed her Bachelor of Music (Performance) with Honours at The Conservatorium of Music, The University of Melbourne in 2010.
Hannah’s operatic roles include: Proserpina and La Musica in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo; Diane in Actéon by Charpentier; Queen of the Night, First Lady, Second Lady and Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte; Second Woman in Dido and Aeneas by Purcell; Diane in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld; Daughter Anne in Glass/Moran’s The Juniper Tree.
Hannah has also been a soloist for the Heidelberg Choral Society, the Heidelberg Symphony, Monash Chorale, Monash University Choral Society, Ballarat Symphony Orchestra, Australian Intervarsity Choral Festival 2012, Maroondah Symphony Orchestra, Victorian Youth Symphony Orchestra, Trinity College Choir Melbourne, Orchestra 21, Consort of Melbourne, and the Box Hill Chorale and Melbourne University Choral Society with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has been awarded numerous prizes and scholarships including the Encouragement Award in the prestigious 2011 Herald Sun Aria Finals, Scholarships in 2011 and 2012 from Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust including the Mel and Nina Waters Scholarship, Second in the Regional Finals of The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions 2013 and was a awarded the Leverhulme Royal Northern College of Music Award and the Christine Leaves Award as a Finalist in the Australian Singing Competition 2013. Hannah was also a Finalist in the 2013 Opera Foundation Australia German Opera Scholarship.
In 2012 Hannah was a Principle Artist with the Opera Australia Oz Opera Schools Company, performing The Magic Flute as the Queen of the Night, Lady and Papagena. After joining the Salzburg Festival in August 2013 in Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream under Conductor Ivor Bolton, Hannah has returned to Opera Australia as a Principle Artist in 2014 to perform Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute in Sydney and First Lady in The Magic Flute at Opera on the Beach before touring both roles with Opera Australia On Tour.
